SUMMER 2009 Brian writes in from back home in South Carolina,
after being in upstate New York.
Dateline: Historic Saratoga Springs, NY: "In 1799, what English ears heard as "Saratoga" was actually a Mohawk Indian word having something to do with rolling hills and a quiet river. What I discovered there in 2009 was an English guy sporting a Mohawk, drinking Rolling Rock, and he was anything but quiet. (Hey, it was a commuter train from New York City, what can I say?)
Seriously now, I had a terrific time at the Holiday Inn show arranged by Don Bowers Productions this past Father's Day. It was great to see their big ballroom so crowded and get to be "up close" with fans. Many people attended who had been out to previous shows of mine, and one very nice guy even brought a photo of his taken of me back in 1996 when I appeared at the Palace Theatre in Albany NY with The Jordanaires .
"UNCHAINED MELODY" A beautiful favorite.
Roy, June 1969 -- Brian, June 2009.
Many thanks to Don and his bride Bernadene, and to Al Bruno and Dick Countermine, and all the staff at the Holiday Inn for making it a truly memorable show. Special thanks to the great Joey Pucci. I've known this drummer for years and he put together the band for this special evening. I hope I told each of your guys in person just how good I thought you all were. I could not have asked for better backup and I hope we find ways to work together again!".
Unchained Melody, Crawling Back, and
You May Feel Me Crying are on the "AUDIO" page as MP3's
There are exciting things brewing and I'll share details with you as soon as all the tees are dotted and the eyes are crossed.
In the meantime, I'm headed back to the Myrtle Beach "Legends in Concert" stage July 11th.
"Have a Happy Summer!", Brian
PS: Cookie, I'm glad you got your ticket at last! It was very nice to see you after so long.
