Brian McCullough Recreates the Immortal Songs of Roy Orbison in Legends in Concert at Bally's Atlantic City
Atlantic City, NJ- December 1, 2004 - Bally's Atlantic City announces that Brian McCullough will perform as Roy Orbison in Atlantic City's most popular revue show, "Legends in Concert." This award-winning tribute show is presented six days a week at the Palace Theater in the Claridge Casino at Bally's. McCullough, as Roy Orbison, will replace Lori Mitchell-Gay as Whitney Houston, beginning January 5.
Brian McCullough never intended to star as Roy Orbison, the man Elvis Presley called the best singer in the world. In fact, it was not until a friend suggested Brian try singing in a new karaoke lounge that McCullough discovered his talent. At the urging of his fans, McCullough gave up his radio DJ career and developed his tribute show in 1993. Since then, he has performed throughout the United States and Canada, at the Empress Casino in Illinois, the Hollywood Casino in Louisiana, on cruises throughout the Caribbean, Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, and Legends in Concert Myrtle Beach, as well as in Atlantic City.
His loyal fans are what keep McCullough going strong through sometimes hectic performance schedules. "These are some of the finest people in the world," he said, " and that they come to see me perform Roy's music time and again is a great honor."
Audiences are amazed to hear how much McCullough's voice resembles that of Orbison's when he sings "In Dreams", "Mean Woman Blues" and "Crying." And crowds can't help but sing along when McCullough performs the Orbison hits "Oh, Pretty Woman" and "Only the Lonely."
"Legends" audiences continue to be entertained by an ever-changing group of talented performers that not only look like, but also sound like, the superstars. The "Legends" lineup includes Lionel Richie (Dave Lawrence), Tom Jones (Steve McCoy), Alan Jackson (Doug Brewin) and Elvis Presley (James Lowrey).
Performances are held nightly in the Palace Theater, except Fridays. Show times are: Monday through Thursday at 3:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 7:30 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. and Sunday 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Ticket prices, Sunday through Thursday matinees are $15, evenings - $17.50, and Saturdays - $25.
